chinese alphabet

Although I speak Chinese fluently now, in fact, I couldn't speak Chinese when I was a child until I went to school. Because I am a minority, I grew up surrounded by people who spoke our local language, not Mandarin. I am writing this article today mainly to provide a reference for foreign friends who are learning chinese alphabet. At the same time, it provides a new way of thinking for myself to learn English.

My process of learning Chinese is as follows:

I started learning Chinese characters when I was 5 years old. Start learning simple Chinese characters and learn the stroke order of writing.

In the first grade of elementary school Chinese, I started to study and develop Chinese teaching pinyin, and I can master and recite the pinyin letters for each student proficiently. Learn by using modern Chinese pinyin. It was the first time I watched the TV series "Journey to the West". I couldn't understand it, but I thought it was fun. When I was a child, I saw an advertisement for black sesame paste in southern China on TV, but I didn't understand it. I thought it was grandma calling her grandson to go home for dinner. When I grew up, I realized that it was black sesame paste.

In the second grade of elementary school, I began to learn to use the Xinhua dictionary. From then on, look up the unknown word in the dictionary.

In the third grade, I started to learn idioms, and I used a small idiom dictionary with a lot of idioms. I started keeping a short diary. Start reading an interesting book, Strange Tales from a Liaozhai Studio. Usually watch cartoons. During the summer vacation, I watched the TV series "Journey to the West".

In the fourth grade of elementary school, I started to read picture books.

When I was in the fifth grade of elementary school, I started to borrow books from the school reading room and bookstore. In some books, every Chinese character has pinyin. The most impressive ones are "Robinson Crusoe" and "Sun Tzu's Art of War". A sentence in Sun Tzu's Art of War, "Soldiers that subdue the enemy without fighting are also good fighters", impressed me deeply.

In junior high school, I began to read "Water Margin" and began to learn ancient Chinese prose.

In high school, I began to read "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms".

In college, I started reading Dream of Red Mansions, Huangdi Neijing and various Chinese books. During my four years in college, I borrowed hundreds of books from the school library.

From the above process, we can see that the process of learning Chinese is a long process, which took more than ten years. Just started learning the basic skills, and learning the basic skills well is very important for subsequent learning. At first, it was taught by teachers, and later it was mainly self-study. When you study by yourself, you should watch cartoons, TV series and books that interest you. I think it should be the same when I learn English, Japanese or other languages in the future.
